Dreams of War in the United States

"We are given in this church and in the gospel protections, and that's because God knows far better than you or me or our kids know that we're going to be in combat. I think part of the reason half of the Book of Mormon - some 40%, some gigantic portion of the Book of Mormon - is about war, and we say, 'What on Earth is that all about?' Well, I think it's because war is the metaphor for the last days, and the book is for the last days, and so heaven knows those sweet kids of yours are going to be on the battleground." (Jeffrey R. Holland, For Times of Trouble, 2012)

These dreams left me with a feeling of dread and a strong urge to warn others of the potential dangers that lie ahead. The fact is that I believe it's going to happen sooner than later.

In my dreams, I witnessed a catastrophic war that devastated the United States. The first thing I saw were multiple nuclear attacks across the country. It was a terrifying sight to see, and I knew that many lives were lost.

Next, I saw Chinese warships sailing towards the US coast. One of the ships fired a missle, and in retaliation, a US aircraft destroyed the warship. However, this didn't stop the Chinese soldiers from parachuting through the clouds, ready to invade.

As the soldiers landed, they began using their automatic rifles to kill innocent civilians. The scene was chaotic, with people running and screaming in terror. I remember seeing them trying to escape by running up the hills, hoping to find safety.

Suddenly, I saw a rocket fly over my head, and I got the impression that it was headed towards another state. For some reason, I felt like it was going towards Utah.

I also saw chaos and destruction, people resorting to violence, robbery and killing. This is a reminder that in times of crisis, there are those who may choose to act out of fear, desperation, and self-preservation.

Finally, as I was driving down the street, I realized that the streets were completely empty, with no one in sight. I searched for my family, but I couldn't find them anywhere.

In the midst of the chaos and destruction that I witnessed in my dreams, I felt a sense of hopelessness and despair. But then, I remembered the power of faith and prayer.

In times of trouble and uncertainty, prayer and faith can provide comfort and strength. We must pray for guidance, wisdom, and protection.

As terrifying as my dream may have been, it's important to remember that we should not live our lives in fear. Fear can paralyze us and prevent us from taking the necessary steps to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Instead of succumbing to fear, we must remain calm and level-headed in times of crisis. We can do this by focusing on what we can control, such as preparing emergency kits and developing evacuation plans.

In addition to comfort I received in one of my dreams, I heard a sudden knock on my door. As I approached the door and opened it, I was surprised to see Jesus standing there. He looked at me with a serious expression and spoke in a calm, yet firm voice. Saying: "It's Time."

Elder Boyd K. Packer shared these encouraging words:

"Our young people in many ways are much stronger and better than we were. They and we should not be afraid of what is ahead.

"Encourage our young people. They need not live in fear (see D&C 6:36). Fear is the opposite of faith.

The Lord said, “Take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand” (D&C 27:15)." (Do Not Fear, General Conference, April 2004)

"Wherefore, he will preserve the righteous by his power, even if it so be that the fulness of his wrath must come, and the righteous be preserved, even unto the destruction of their enemies by fire. Wherefore, the righteous need not fear; for thus saith the prophet, they shall be saved, even if it so be as by fire." (1 Nephi 22:17)

Let us not fear, but instead face the challenges before us with courage, faith, and hope.
